Animal House Veterinary Hospital in Arnold, MO has many amenities that set us apart.

The hospital was designed to be warm and friendly to help you and your pets feel welcome and at home. Our staff are always friendly and empathetic. We know that it is stressful for both you and your furbaby when they visit us and that is why we go the extra mile to lower the stress a veterinary visit invariably involves.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are highly accessible through phone, email, and text. We are completely computerized so our medical records are efficient, up-to-date, and legible. Transferring files to a specialist or a client is practically instantaneous. Further, Dr. Sherry is committed to reducing her carbon footprint and the practice is as paper light as possible.

We use pheromones, treats, and a gentle touch. There is abundant natural light which is comforting instead of the institutional feel present at most hospitals… We have fun memes on a TV screen in each room to laugh at while you wait for us to care for your pet.

Every patient gets a thorough physical exam. We know pets hide disease and it is our job to find it! You cannot treat what you do not know.

Comfortable, heated cages are available with soft bedding. Our hospitalized patients are either sick or recovering from surgery and their comfort is paramount. We have spacious dog runs with a clear glass front to make our larger patients more comfortable with room to stretch.

In addition, there are windows from the treatment area to each ward and video camera feeds so we can constantly monitor our hospitalized patients. Intensive care requires constant vigilance and our patients cannot press the nurse’s button if they need help!

We use cutting-edge equipment to provide gold-standard care such as:
CO2 surgery Laser which we use for every surgery and procedure. This seals nerve endings to reduce pain, seals blood vessels to reduce bleeding and inflammation and reduces risk of postoperative infection.

Therapy Laser is a specialized laser used for healing and pain control. Laser energy is transferred to the targeted area to add energy to the healing cells improving their healing capacity while elevating blood flow to further aid healing while reducing inflammation and pain.

Digital Radiography DR improves workflow by producing higher quality images instantaneously while providing two to three times more dose efficiency than other forms of radiography which gives us the clearest films possible quickly. Digital Radiography takes x-rays which instantly appear on a monitor. All other forms of radiography require developing. This seems like a minor detail but remember, your pet is nervous on an x-ray table and the sooner we complete our study the happier they will be! Most importantly, the images are of the highest quality.

Digital Dental Radiographs of which we perform a complete set every dental treatment. This is only done at the specialist level and is rarely part of normal dental treatment in general practice. We can only see 1/3rd of each tooth! 2/3rds are below the gum line. For example, the canine tooth on the right in the x-ray looks normal on top but it is actually abscessed at the root!!! All of our surgical procedures are given an IV catheter and placed on an IV pump to keep their blood pressure elevated and hydrate them during the procedure. We have a nurse anesthetist dedicated to every patient monitoring oxygen saturation in the blood, temperature, pulse, mucous membranes, blood pressure, and end-tidal carbon dioxide and recording it on the patients’ surgery chart every 5 minutes.

Pain control is part of any surgical plan or medical treatment and is as important as any other aspect of care, not an afterthought or extra charge.
